Favorite Bible Verse: Psalm 46:10a
"Be still, and know that I am God!"

Pastor Daniel came to Quincy in July of 2021 after earning his Master of Divinity degree from Wartburg Theological Seminary in Dubuque, Iowa.  Christ Lutheran Church is the first congregation he has served following his ordination into the ministry of Word and Sacrament in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.  As our pastor, he has been called to preach and teach the Word of God, to administer the sacraments of Holy Baptism and Holy Communion, to lead worship, to provide pastoral care, to speak for justice on behalf of the poor and oppressed, and to equip and encourage us for daily discipleship.

Pastor Daniel grew up in farm country outside of Decorah, Iowa, in the majestic driftless region of Northeast Iowa.  He earned his baccalaureate degree in Religion at Luther College and studied accounting at Northeast Iowa Community College.  Prior to becoming a pastor, he gained valuable and relevant experience in public relations and marketing, community engagement, administration, pastoral care, and leadership.

Pastor Daniel thoroughly enjoys exploring scripture and is particularly interested in topics related to missiology, pastoral care, Lutheran confessions, and preaching.  He is passionate about engaging challenging issues and difficult questions the church is facing in the 21st century.  He is an artist, musician, and poet, who enjoys table tennis, hiking, biking, fishing, Frisbee, and kayaking.  Pastor Daniel's family includes his wife Allie, and his daughter, Sylvie.

Pastor Daniel is available Tuesday through Friday from 9:00am to 5:00pm, and other times by appointment.
